More Than 50 Employers Hiring at Paychecks for Patriots Virtual Job Fair for Veterans and Spouses Nov. 12 as part of Statewide Campaign

West Palm Beach, Fla. (Nov. 10, 2020) – CareerSource Palm Beach County is teaming up with CareerSource Research Coast to host a special virtual job fair for veterans and their spouses to connect them with more than 50 local and national employers. This Paychecks for Patriots event is open to all job seekers as well and will be held on Thursday, Nov. 12 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Employers participating in the virtual job fair include Amazon, Walmart, Waste Pro, Cleveland Clinic,

CVS and more. There is no charge to participate, but registration is required from the link on our home page at

“Many area employers actively seek to hire veterans because of the knowledge, skills and attributes they have acquired in a wide variety of specialized fields during their service,” said Julia Dattolo, interim president and CEO of CareerSource Palm Beach County and a U.S. Navy veteran. “We offer services at no cost that help returning veterans find new employment and transition into civilian careers.”

In celebration of Veterans Day this month, CareerSource organizations throughout Florida are partnering with the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity and the Florida Department of Veterans Affairs to connect members of Florida’s military and veteran communities with career opportunities through Paychecks for Patriots hiring events taking place November 4 - 21. In the past seven years, nearly 6,300 veterans and military family members who participated in these events across the state have gained employment as a result. Of the more than 1.5 million veterans in Florida, more than 83,000 are located in Palm Beach County.

“Florida is home to the third-largest population of veterans in America, and this highly skilled, well-trained workforce is one of the many reasons Florida is the best state for business,” said Governor Ron DeSantis. “This year Paychecks for Patriots is bringing career fairs right to the computers and smartphones of our military families through a first-ever statewide virtual job fair to ensure veterans in every part of the state can connect with great careers in their communities.”  

Veterans who are residents of Palm Beach County are encouraged to contact CareerSource about the special employment assistance available to them at the career centers or at Veterans’ services are provided at no cost and include:

- Classes and facilities for job search

- Career development/consulting/placement services

- Grants for job training for those who qualify

- Talent identifiers and assessments

- Referrals to educational and vocational training programs

- Access to computers, fax machines, phones and copiers for job searches

- Veterans on our staff who know how to effectively connect your military experience and skills with prospective civilian employers

- CareerSource also assists employers with grants for training employees and provides information about other incentives for hiring veterans.
