West Palm Beach, Fla. (May 16, 2024) – CareerSource Palm Beach County and FloridaCommerce released its April 2025 labor market report, highlighting a strong start to the summer job season with low unemployment and continued employment gains in key industries. The region continues to attract new businesses and support a strong workforce.
Palm Beach County’s unemployment rate was 3.4%, slightly above the 2.9% seen a year ago but still lower than the statewide average of 3.5%. The local labor force reached 780,664, with 26,573 residents actively seeking work. These indicators reflect a healthy labor market that remains attractive for both job seekers and employers.
"Heading into the summer months with low unemployment is a positive sign for our local economy," said Julia Dattolo, President and CEO of CareerSource Palm Beach County. "It positions us to support seasonal hiring and to continue drawing new employers to Palm Beach County."
Palm Beach County Sees Notable Sector Gains

In Palm Beach County, nonagricultural employment climbed to 711,100 jobs, an increase of 4,600 jobs or +0.7% over the year. The most significant gains were seen in:
- Education and Health Services: +6,200 jobs (+5.2%)
- Second-fastest growth rate in Florida metro areas
- Third-highest job gain statewide in the sector
- Government: +1,700 jobs (+2.6%)
- Third-fastest growth rate in this category across the state
