What you need to know to stay on track and supported

SNAP Employment & Training is a program designed to support individuals who receive SNAP benefits in building skills, finding work, and moving toward greater stability. You will receive guidance and support every step of the way.

Complete the four steps above and we’ll guide you from there.

Some individuals are required to participate and will receive a notice from the Department of Children and Families. Others may have the option to participate voluntarily. If you are unsure what applies to you, we will help you understand your next steps in a clear and supportive way.

If you have been referred, it is important to complete your orientation and assessment as soon as you can. This helps keep everything on track and prevents any issues with your benefits. If you need more time or run into challenges, please reach out so we can support you.

Many participants are asked to complete up to 80 hours per month of approved activities. Your specific requirements will be explained to you, and we will work with you to create a plan that fits your situation.

Your activities may include job search, preparing for work, training or education, work experience, or employment. Together, we will help you choose options that align with your goals and current needs.

If you are working, your requirements may be different depending on your hours. Let us know about your employment so we can adjust your plan and make sure everything is accurate and up to date.

If something comes up, such as illness, transportation challenges, or family responsibilities, please contact us as soon as possible. We understand that situations change, and we will work with you to find a path forward.

You can receive support with job search, applications, resume and interview preparation, training and certifications, and career planning. We will help you access the services that best support your goals.

You will meet with a team member who will review your information, talk through your goals, and help you create a plan. From there, you will be connected to services and support to help you move forward with confidence.
