Accounting Technician

POSITION SUMMARY

Accounting Technician supports CareerSource Palm Beach County (CSPBC) organizational goals of connecting business with talent by processing records and verifying numerical data for use in maintaining accounting records and systems.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Enters data and processes payments for participant training; miscellaneous vendor requests; and Support Service vouchers.

2. Handles petty cash.

3. Enters data and processes all expense reports for employees.

4. Processes and maintains all purchase orders; verifies invoice against PO balance.

5. Processes and reconciles all orders for supplies.

6. Runs the accounts payable system, verifies and issues checks to vendors.

7. Files documents and reports as warranted.

8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS

High school degree or equivalent preferred. Proficiency in typing and data entry. Basic bookkeeping skills preferred. Proficiency in basic Computer skills. Demonstrate high ethical standards.

Interpersonal Savvy: Relates well to all kinds of people, up, down, and sideways, inside and outside the organization; builds constructive and effective relationships. Uses diplomacy and tact; and diffuse even hightension situations comfortably.

Communication: The ability to identify and understand the speech of another person and communicate information and ideas in spoken and written format so others will understand.

Approachability: is easy to approach and talk to; spends the extra effort to put others at ease; can be warm, pleasant, and gracious; is sensitive to and patient with the interpersonal anxieties of others; builds rapport well; is a good listener; is an early knower, getting informal and incomplete information in time to do something about it.

Learning on the Fly: Learns quickly when facing new problems; a relentless and versatile learner; open to change; analyzes both successes and failures for clues to improvement; experiments and will try anything to find solutions; enjoys the challenge of unfamiliar tasks; quickly grasps the essence and the underlying structure of anything.

 

TRANSPORTATION

Reliable transportation and the ability to travel in personal or commercial vehicles as required to accomplish assigned duties. If traveling in your personally owned vehicle, valid vehicle insurance is required.

The working conditions are typical of a professional office environment.
