Supervisor of Programs

POSITION SUMMARY

The Supervisor of Programs supports CareerSource Palm Beach County (CSPBC) organizational goals of connecting business with talent by leading one or more of our programs and ensuring the highest level of customer service for all clients. Takes positive steps to ensure that, to the greatest extent possible, every client interaction is a positive experience.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Builds an effective team. Tracks and monitors employee performance; provides the training, coaching, or mentoring necessary to ensure a high level of performance.

2. Deals effectively with performance or behavioral deficiencies. Takes appropriate corrective or disciplinary action when required.

3. Stays abreast of changes to programs by attending trainings and seminars, reviewing State & Federal communiqués, guidance papers, and memorandums, and communicates to their team as appropriate.

4. Coordinates the staffing process for their unit. Recruits and selects top talent

5. Reaches out to other departments to improve workflow and help in improving customer service.

6. Directly responsible for the quantity and quality of work produced by their unit. Identifies and analyzes information to give early warnings of potential problems and takes appropriate action.

7. Continuously investigates and introduces process improvement measures and presents suggestions for consideration.

8. Deals effectively with difficult clients and works towards a positive solution when possible.

9. Management staff are responsible for implementing and enforcing the organization's equal opportunity and ethics policies and procedures. 10. Performs other related duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent and a minimum 4 years’ experience with workforce programs (TTW, WP, WIOA, WTP, etc.) preferred.

• Ability to effectively apply knowledge and understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to workforce programs is preferred.

• Prior supervisory experience is preferred.

• Functional technical skills needed include working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)

• Bi-lingual is preferred and may be required for some positions.

Innovation Management: Is good at bringing the creative ideas of others to market; has good judgment about which creative ideas and suggestions will work; has a sense about managing the creative process of others; can facilitate effective brainstorming; can project how potential ideas may play out in the marketplace.

Presentation Skills: Is effective in a variety of formal presentation settings: one-on-one, small and large groups, with peers, direct reports, and bosses; is effective both inside and outside the organization, on both cool data and hot and controversial topics; commands attention and can manage group process during the presentation; can change tactics midstream when something isn’t working.

Management: An effective manager demonstrates leadership by inspiring and motivating their team, fostering strong relationships through emotional intelligence, mutual trust, active listening, and effectively aligning their team towards the accomplishment of organizational goals. They thrive in decision-making, problem-solving, and adaptability, while properly delegating tasks, thinking strategically, and managing priorities. Additionally, they emphasize coaching, the diplomatic resolution of conflicts, and fostering team development to create long-term success.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may frequently lift and move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 20 pounds.

 

TRAVEL

Reliable transportation and the ability to travel in personal or commercial vehicles may be required to accomplish assigned duties.

 

WORKING ENVIRONMENT

The working conditions are typical of an office environment.
