Julia Dattolo Appointed to NAWDP's Board of Directors

WEST PLAINS, MO, August 4, 2023 – The National Association of Workforce Development Professionals (NAWDP) today announced the appointment of Julia Dattolo, CEO/President of CareerSource Palm Beach County, as the State Director representing Florida members on the NAWDP Board of Directors. Dattolo will serve a term through June 30, 2026.

“NAWDP’s Board of Directors serves as a critical connection to the needs of workforce professionals from across the nation and uses their expertise to set the goals and objectives for NAWDP,” said Melissa Robbins, Chief Executive Officer for NAWDP. “Julia has a proven record of service throughout her career and NAWDP will greatly benefit from her strengths in the workforce industry to help advance the association to better serve our members.”

Dattolo currently serves as CEO/President of CareerSource Palm Beach County, the nonprofit organization chartered by the state of Florida to lead workforce development in the county. Under Dattolo’s leadership, CareerSource Palm Beach County was recognized as NAWDP’s 2023 Workforce Employer of the Year and received the National Association of Workforce Boards (NAWDP) 2021 Trailblazer Award. The organization has achieved record-low unemployment, expanded the jobs pipeline, increased employment and economic development in the Glades community, proactively partnered with education to change the landscape in Palm Beach County, and pioneered virtual services.

Dattolo served as Chief Operating Officer of Programs, Vice President of Business Services, and Director of Client Services prior to accepting her role as CEO/President. Among other duties in these roles, she was responsible for the oversight of the Veterans Services, Reentry Engagement Team, and Health Care Recruiting departments – all of which achieved national and state recognition for outstanding performance.

Prior to joining CareerSource in 2015, Dattolo had a distinguished 22-year military career which culminated in the rank of U.S. Navy Commander in charge of Jacksonville Naval Hospital Detachment, Naval Operations Support Center.

Dattolo currently serves on several boards including the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund, Mission United, Florida Workforce Development Association, the Business Development Board, and the Housing Leadership Council of Palm Beach County. She was also named the Nonprofit Executive of the Year for 2022 by Nonprofits First!
