Palm Beach County Unemployment Rate Drops to 4.5 Percent; Many Jobs Lost from COVID Have Been Recovered

West Palm Beach, Fla. (March 26, 2021) – Palm Beach County’s unemployment rate for February announced today is 4.5 percent -- below both the 6.6 percent national rate and Florida’s 5.0 percent rate for the sixth consecutive month, according to the latest monthly reports released today by CareerSource Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (all numbers not seasonally adjusted).



Palm Beach County Unemployment Rate Steady at 4.7 Percent; Below State and National Rates for Seventh Consecutive Month

Palm Beach County’s unemployment rate for March announced today is 4.7 percent -- below both the 6.2 percent national rate and Florida’s 5.3 percent rate for the seventh consecutive month, according to the latest monthly reports released today by CareerSource Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (all numbers not seasonally adjusted). March also marks the first time in a year that the county’s unemployment dropped below the year-ago rate which was 5.4 percent in March 2020.


Palm Beach County Unemployment Rate Steady at 4.7 Percent; Below State and National Rates for Eight Consecutive Months

Palm Beach County Unemployment Rate Drops Slightly to 4.6 Percent; Below State and National Rates for Nine Consecutive Months

West Palm Beach, Fla. (June 18, 2021) – Palm Beach County’s unemployment rate for May announced today is 4.6 percent -- below both the 5.5 percent national rate and Florida’s 5.0 percent rate for the ninth consecutive month – and the lowest point since March 2020, according to the latest monthly reports released today by CareerSource Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (all numbers not seasonally adjusted). May’s rate also dropped 9.7 percent below the year-ago rate of 14.3 percent.


Palm Beach County Unemployment Rate 5.3 Percent; Remains Below State and National Rates for 10 Consecutive Months

West Palm Beach, Fla. (July 16, 2021) – Palm Beach County’s unemployment rate for June announced today is 5.3 percent -- below both the 6.1 percent national rate and Florida’s 5.7 percent rate for the tenth consecutive month, according to the latest monthly reports released today by CareerSource Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (all numbers not seasonally adjusted). June’s rate also dropped 6.2 percentage points below the year-ago rate of 11.5 percent.


Palm Beach County Unemployment Rate Drops to 4.8 Percent; Remains Below State and National Rates for Nearly a Year

West Palm Beach, Fla. (Aug. 20, 2021) – Palm Beach County’s unemployment rate for July announced today is 4.8 percent -- below both the 5.7 percent national rate and Florida’s 5.1 percent rate for 11 consecutive months, according to the latest monthly reports released today by CareerSource Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (all numbers not seasonally adjusted). July’s rate also dropped 6.7 percentage points below the year-ago rate of 11.5 percent.


Milestone: More Job Openings than Unemployed People in Palm Beach County

West Palm Beach, Fla. (Sept. 10, 2021) – For the first time since available records began in 2005, there are more job openings than unemployed people in Palm Beach County, according to statistics released today by CareerSource Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity. These statistics reveal that there are 38,544 job openings and 36,626 unemployed people in the county (latest statistics available for July 2021; new statistics will be released for August on Sept. 17).

August’s rate also dropped 3.4 percentage points below the year-ago rate of 8.1 percent.


Palm Beach County Unemployment Rate Drops to 4.1 Percent; More Job Openings Than Unemployed for Third Consecutive Month

West Palm Beach, Fla. (Oct. 22, 2021) – Palm Beach County’s unemployment rate for September announced today is 4.1 percent -- below both the 4.6 percent national rate and Florida’s 4.3 percent rate for more than a year, according to the latest monthly reports released today by CareerSource Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (all numbers not seasonally adjusted). September’s rate also dropped 2.5 percentage points below the year-ago rate of 6.6 percent.

Palm Beach County’s unemployment rate for January 2022 announced today is 3.4 percent, below the year-ago of 5.8 percent, and below the 4.4 percent national rate and Florida’s 3.5 percent rate.  The county’s unemployment rate has remained below the nation’s for more than a year, according to the latest monthly reports released today by CareerSource Palm Beach County and the Florida Department of Economic Opportunity (all numbers not seasonally adjusted). 




Up to $10K Available to Eligible Veterans, Spouses for Job Training from CareerSource Palm Beach County in Honor of Memorial Day

West Palm Beach, Fla. (May 25, 2022) – In observing Memorial Day, CareerSource Palm Beach County is offering up to $10,000 for occupational training to eligible veterans and military spouses seeking employment through their Careers for Veterans Grant program.
