Reemployment Assistance & First Impressions Specialist


LOCATION

This position is located at our West Career Center at 1085 S. Main Street, Belle Glade, FL 33430.

TEAM PURPOSE

To empower and equip job seekers with the skills, confidence, and tools they need to secure and maintain meaningful employment. Through personalized coaching and practical skill-building, this team helps job seekers develop strong resumes, master interview techniques, and refine job search strategies.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Reemployment & First Impression Specialist serves as a front-line representative of the workforce development center, ensuring every visitor receives a professional, welcoming, and culturally competent experience. This role supports unemployed and underemployed individuals in navigating workforce services and returning to sustainable employment, while ensuring program compliance and efficient customer flow.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

First Impression & Customer Flow Management

  • Serve as the initial point of contact for all individuals entering or contacting the workforce center.
  • Greet job seekers, employers, and partners in a professional, culturally competent, and trauma-informed manner.
  • Triage customers to appropriate workforce programs, services, or staff based on observed needs and initial intake.
  • Manage front desk operations, including sign-in procedures, customer flow, and adherence to security protocols.
  • Answer and route incoming calls, emails, and inquiries in accordance with agency guidelines.
  • Maintain an organized, accessible, and welcoming reception and resource area.
  • Support customers with navigating digital tools such as job applications, workforce portals, and resume platforms.

Reemployment & Workforce Services

· Provides claims assistance and guidance to walk-in customers and those referred for support.

· Helps job seekers navigate the Reconnect system and understand UI benefit processes.

· Refers customers to the Center Navigation Team for further career planning or service support.

· Provides customer service, support, and problem solving with a focus on reducing stress and barriers.

· Encourages workforce reentry by sharing resources, strategies, and motivational support.

· Maintains accurate documentation and logs all interactions and resolutions in required systems.

· Tracks attendance and completion of reemployment activities to support engagement and compliance.

Case Management & Compliance

· Maintain timely and accurate case documentation using workforce systems and reporting tools.

· Track customer progress, service outcomes, and necessary follow-up in alignment with performance requirements.

· Ensure service delivery and documentation meet all federal, state and local compliance standards.

· Uphold strict confidentiality and data privacy guidelines when managing customer records.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in human services, business, workforce development, or related field preferred.
  • Experience in workforce development, career service, or case management preferred.
  • Knowledge of workforce programs, employment trends, and common barriers to employment strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and digital navigation skills.
  • Proficiency with case management systems, online tools, and standard office software.

TRANSPORTATION

Reliable transportation and the ability to travel in personal or commercial vehicles as required to accomplish assigned duties. If traveling in your personally owned vehicle, valid vehicle insurance is required.
