I think the most valuable thing I learned at Palm Beach County CareerSource was how to frame my mindset in the job search.  I literally felt empowered after every visit.  The second most valuable thing I learned was how to take specific actions regarding my public job board profiles and resume, to make them speak the same language.  I learned how to communicate to employers that I am looking for them, and that they are looking for me.  This proved to be the key difference that made my job search last just over a month.  To my amazement, I went from being unemployed to juggling several offers in a matter of weeks. It’s a tall order to be able to ask to teach these skills to anyone. I think that the staff at the Career Center are able to do this by conveying a sense of urgency and professionalism. Of course, you have to put in the work.  But they give you a gentle push in the right direction.  That made all the difference for me.”
